Family Support
Our support staff ensures that a family’s specific needs are met through the following services: Respite Care allows family caregivers to have personal time, while a direct care professional provides in-home support and community activities for their loved one. For families who would like to hire an independent respite care provider, and who are eligible through the New Jersey Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), Delta administers a monthly cash payment to defray respite care costs. Families may also sign up for Weekend Hotel Respite, which is a unique way for caregivers to have personal time, knowing their loved one is being well cared for by trained and experienced staff in a high quality hotel. After School Supports help to facilitate inclusion of school-aged children with developmental disabilities into existing after school activities in their communities. Direct care professionals help families find a program that matches their needs, and then supports the child in participating in the activities and developing relationships with peers. Families must be referred to Delta through DDD. Kaleidoscope Recreation Program offers fun-filled community adventures for children and adults with disabilities, from days in the park to live theater and planetarium shows. The program is funded through private donations and participant fees, so individuals need not be referred by DDD. Cash Payments from Delta can be used to purchase the services and equipment a family requires to meet their loved one’s needs. All requests must be made through the family’s DDD case manager. also be developed for families not eligible to receive DDD assistance
